Overview
Background
Intangible is a spatial AI platform where creative professionals build 3D scenes and generate AI-powered visualizations. The Visualizer is where users render their scenes into images and videos for pre-production and creative work.
Creative users found it difficult to get consistent lighting across shots. They also wanted to define the output style of their visualizations and create reusable presets for their projects.
Problem
Users struggled to replicate lighting and style results from shot to shot. Even with similar scenes, outputs varied unpredictably, requiring extensive trial-and-error to achieve visual consistency.
Opportunity
Define style and lighting presets as dedicated tabs where users can select from curated options, create their own presets, and have these automatically applied to their scene prompts.
Solution
I designed dedicated Style and Lighting preset tabs within the Visualizer. Users can browse curated presets organized by category, preview how each affects their output, and apply them with a single click.
The system also supports custom presets—users can save their own combinations, share them across projects, and even fine-tune the underlying prompt that gets appended to their scene details.
Impact
Users achieved significantly more consistent lighting and style across their shot sequences, even when characters, objects, and camera angles changed completely between shots.
The preset system reduced trial-and-error cycles, giving users an intuitive method for achieving predictable, repeatable results in their visualizations.
Role
As Lead Product Designer, I owned the end-to-end design of the preset system—from user research and concept exploration through interaction design and implementation handoff.
Team
I collaborated with the product manager, AI/ML engineers on prompt integration, and frontend developers on the preset management interface.
